Both the individual knitting process and the resulting fabric are rendered into musical scores and can be performed live as shown in the video below.
The knitting scanner that generates the muscial baseline from the knitting pattern was also part of the exhibition Making Fun Serious at Futuresonic.
This is a beautiful example of data crafting or code crafting: the knitted fabric is used as an actual data storage for the musical score.
