LEGO Embroidery Machine

Über-knerd-couple Karin and Immanuel Halupczok (aka karimmi) have constructed a LEGO embroidery machine, combining a regular sewing machine with a custom LEGO-Mindstorms embroidery arm to control the movement of the hoop.

In the youtube video you can see the machine, creating a Hilbert curve. This is a very neat example of fractal embroidery.

Their project page also features an embroidered Sirpinski triangle and some pics taken during the construction of the machine.
